Prof. Carmelo Chisari received his MD from the University of Padova (Italy). He did his neurology residency at Pisa University (Italy) where he received his Post-graduate specialization in Neurology. He received postdoctoral training in Neurorehabilitation and Neurophysiology at the Department of Neuroscience, University of Pisa. From 2003 he was Adjunt Assistant Professor of Neurorehabilitation at the University of Pisa. From 2012 was Chief of the“Laboratory for the study and treatment of motor disorders” at the University Hospital of Pisa. From 2018 is Associate Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University Hospital of Pisa and Director of Neurorehabilitaion Unit at the University Hospital of Pisa. Prof. Chisari’s lab is interested in the mechanisms underlying plastic changes in the human central nervous system and in the development of novel therapeutic approaches for recovery of function based on the understanding of these mechanisms.
